Live Chat v4.0 – HTML5 Web Administration – Available Now

Live Help v4.0 is now available for download within the customer area. The major new release features an awesome HTML5 web-based administration that was completely re-designed from the ground up and takes advantage of the latest HTML5 technologies. By taking advantage of new HTML5 features it has allowed us to bring the functionality of the web-based administration closer to the functionality of the Live Help Windows desktop app.

The web-based administration works great on Mac OS X, Linux as well as Windows. On Mac OS X (using Safari and Mac OS X Mountain Lion) or Google Chrome the web app supports desktop notifications when you have your browser windows minimized, so you won’t miss important chat requests.

The above screenshot shows the new HTML5 administration running on Mac OS X 10.8 within Safari. The upgrade procedure for the latest update is quite simple as there were no major database changes for this update.

Live Help v4.0 Upgrade Instructions

• Rename your existing /livehelp/ folder to /livehelp-backup/
• Upload the latest /livehelp/ folder on your server to www.example.com/livehelp/
• Move the /livehelp-backup/include/database.php file to /livehelp/include/database.php

Note: WHMCS customers that purchased the Live Chat add-on from WHMCS should have access to the v4.0 release from the WHMCS customer area soon. WHMCS are currently in the process of updating the downloads within their customer area. We will update this blog post and our Twitter account when the downloads are made available.
